Anne Waldman & Andrew Schelling, headline a weekend of tributes to the late Allen Ginsberg at the Northwest SPokenword Lab in Auburn on April 6, 2001 with a reading at 8PM.
Workshop - Saturday April 7, 2000 - 2-5pm

They will facilitate a workshop on the poetics of Allen Ginsberg on Saturday, April 8 from 2-5. A workshop taking off from the poetics of the late Allen Ginsberg, conducted by two friends of his from the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics. Writing exercises drawn from the Mind-Writing Slogans Mr. Ginsberg complied late in his life, where he condensed 50 years of poetry wisdom into a poet's tool-kit of aphorisms.

Specifics: American Sentences modeled on haiku, poems of direct perception, attention to mind's spontaneous clarity, breath chants & good political humor. "What did I notice? Particulars! The / vision of the great one is myriad-"

4th Annual Allen Ginsberg Memoral Open Mic Poetry Marathon - Saturday April 7, 2000 - 8pm

Anne & Andrew will perform a short reading to kick off the 4th Annual A.G. Open Mic Poetry marathon at 8PM Saturday night. There will be a poetry videoconference link with Chicago at 8PM and Vancouver B.C. at 10:30PM


The suggested donation for the reading and for the marathon is $10.00 and the workshop $35.00.
