Denise, It looks like we'll be in the Columbia School, 3528 S. Ferdinand, in the Columbia Cultural Corner, starting October 26. More details coming to the SPLAB.org site. Thanks for your interest.

Do you still plan on using the Slaughter book as a teaching aid this Fall?

Stay well and thanks for reading.

Peter, I think you would enjoy it. David Sherwin is an excellent writer and that shift that happened to him is exactly what I had hoped people would experience in writing this way, in trusting that they could. Not that every poem is a winner, but by the end of the month, you have taught yourself to do something you never thought possible. Hopefully this mode can inform his other writing. Not to say he should write completely organically, but it is a continuum and I think the closer to the organic, the more likely it has access to a much greater energy source. (See Robin Blaser's essay "The Practice of Outside" or my essay on George Bowering's "Kerrisdale Elegies."

Thanks for reading. Yes, good to see you, Dean and Nancy Rawles.

Thanks for the link to the PostCard article. I like what he has to say about capturing organic, nascent thoughts sponateously on the postcard, and how it becomes a kind of writing practice. Maybe I will try to participate next year!

Great to see you and hear you read at the Bradner Concert, Paul.

Although I recently retired as an English teacher and my funds are limited, I would be happy to contribute a "mite" to this worthy cause. And I am sorry to hear of Sam's heart condition, and will keep him (and his wife) in my thoughts.
