Paul,

I spoke to Shannon and to Desiree (school superintendent)
and both were very pleased with the experience.

Teen comments were almost entirely positive, the one
(slightly) negative comment came as an afterthought -
a younger teen (6th grade) said he "didn't understand
a couple of the poems". Most were excited and pleased -
the buzz lasted for several days.

One memorable comment from a teen whose mom
came to pick him up early for a doctor's appointment:
"Why do you always have to take me out when we're
doing something **good**?"

Paul,

I'm working on booking the program for the Skykomish
Library (KCLS) for our program series "Playing With Words"
in April.

We'd like to have it at the school to reach the most kids,
so I met with Shannon Haugstad, the high school English
teacher, (shaugstad@skykomish.wednet.edu) and she'd
like to book SPLAB for the English classes in grades 7-12
(This will be about 20 - 25 students total - it's a very small
school!) She's going to check to be sure the date(s) she
wants don't conflict with the WASL exam dates, then get
back to us to pin down the dates

KCLS does pay mileage for Skykomish, so I hope you'll
be able to come: We're really looking forward to the program.

Kirsten, Shannon,

We'd sure love some feedback from our Monday workshop.

Thanks,

Paul Nelson
