Exercising the Schizophrenic, Writing for Multiple Voices. There is a lot to be learned from the voice. No, there isn't. Yes, there is. No, there isn't. (smack). Yes, there is. We encounter a variety of voices in our everyday lives, from the babbling brooks of small talk to the sternness of parents. Noting them and using them in our poetry is a fun way to explore ideas. Whether it is developing a piece that utilizes three different people, or just three different sides of the poet, writing for multiple identities can be a challenging way to add depth and intensity to the written/spoken word. This workshop seeks to explore working with three different poet's voices as well as developing work that demonstrates a range of "characters" inside the poet.
No limit on enrollment, please bring notebooks and writing instruments. Free to teens, $15 for the general public, ($10 for seniors).
