Writer’s Series at Doe Bay: Judith Roche, Dan Raphael

The Artsmith Salon Series is full of it this spring. 7pm, Mondays, Doe Bay Resort cafe.

March 29: poet and American Book Award winner Judith Roche. Judith is the author of three collections of poetry, Myrrh/My Life as a Screamer, Ghosts, and Wisdom of the Body. Judith will read with Fred Ferraris. Actor, poet, and writer Fred was a finalist in the National Poetry Series, nominated for a Pushcart Prize, and received the Mark Fischer Award in 2008.

Workshop: Judith Roche will teach a -poetry spa- Sunday, March 28 from 1 to 4 P.M. All levels of experience welcome. Register by calling 360-376-2291. Tuition: $55.

April 5: Orcas novelist Keary Taylor reads from her recently published book, Branded. Also English teacher and MFA graduate Tom Davis reads poetry.

April 12: Dan Raphael, author of eight books of poetry, most recently The Bones Begin to Sing. Dan’s work has been published in Caliban, Asylum, and Central Park. Dan will follow a reading by Orcas playwright Samara Shaw.

The salon is free to attend and the Doe Bay Resort cafe is open from 5-9pm serving dinner, small plates, and wine specials. Each salon features a writers? open mic. Your slice of time, 10 minutes, to share the words you’ve been dabbling with.
