Seattle, WA: On April 10th and 11th, 2015, La Sala and Pinoy Words Expressed Kultura Arts (PWEKA) will present three Latino/a and three Filipino/a poets who will consider the influence of Latino and Filipino mythology on poetry. During two events titled “Latino and Filipino Poets Explore Cultural Mythologies” the six poets will read original works followed by a Q&A session with audience members. The artists will compare and explore cultural mythological influences, of both indigenous and shared colonial origins, on the works of contemporary Latino/a and Filipino/a poets.
Friday, April 10th, Seattle University, Wyckoff Auditorium (in the Bannan Bldg – see map below), 7pm, located in the First Hill neighborhood of Seattle.

The Seattle University event is the result of a unique collaboration between two Seattle University student organizations: United Filipino Club (UFC) and Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlán (MEChA) and two local arts organizations: La Sala, a Latino/a artists’ network, and Pinoy Words Expressed Kultura Arts (PWEKA), a Filipino arts and literary organization.
Saturday, April 11th, Seattle Public Library, central branch (Central Library), Level 4, Room 1, 1-4 p.m., 1000 Fourth Ave. Seattle, 98104. Parking will be available in the Central Library garage for regular weekend rate of $7.
